Merchant doesn’t want the customer’s receipt to be printed automatically, how to adjust that?

Updated over 2 weeks ago

To set up a prompt for printing the customer’s copy of the receipt merchant needs to do the following -

For POSitive payment app
1. Log in to the POSitive Payment Application.
2. Click the 3 lines in the top right corner of the screen.
3. Choose “App settings“
4. Enable the toggle “Print: Ask cardholder”.

For Rapyd app (Standalone)
1. Open the payment app.
2. Swipe from right to left, and go to Settings ->Receipt Settings
3. Enable the toggle “Print cardholder receipt”.

Receipt Printing Configurations

Rapyd App

The Rapyd app allows you to configure the order and behavior of receipt printing. Here’s how it works:

  1. Printing Order:

    • If the merchant copy is set to print first, the terminal will print the merchant copy and then prompt whether to print the cardholder (customer) copy. Selecting “No” will result in only the merchant copy being printed, while selecting “Yes” will print both copies consecutively.

    • If the cardholder copy is set to print first, the terminal will first prompt for the cardholder copy. Selecting “Yes” will print both the cardholder and merchant copies, while selecting “No” will print only the merchant copy.

  2. Disabling the Cardholder Copy Prompt:

    • If you disable the prompt for the cardholder copy entirely, the app’s flow may prevent any receipt from printing. Note that the Rapyd app does not support a configuration where the cardholder copy prints automatically without prompting while also ensuring the merchant copy prints.
