How to make merchant's terminal compliant with Mastercard grip update?

Mastercard Grip Mandate Mandatory POS Terminal Update. Mastercard GRIP (Global Risk Identification Program) mandates specific data fields and configurations for payment terminals to enhance transaction security and risk management.

What’s Required?

The following merchant data fields must be added to your terminal configuration to meet Mastercard GRIP requirements:

Sponsored Address – Merchant’s street address (e.g., "4 Main Road") - mandatory for all transactions.

Can be found in the merchant’s application on Paynt Portal - Application - Terminal Requirements - Trading Address.

Sponsored Phone Number – Merchant’s phone number (e.g., "003549876445") - The Acceptor Customer Service Phone Number should be present for all transactions and contain a valid phone number.

Can be found in the merchant’s application on Paynt Portal - Application - Contacts - Company Representative.

Sponsored Country Code - Merchant’s alphabetic 3-letter country code (e.g., "ISL" for Iceland) - mandatory for all transactions. Can be found here - https://www.iban.com/country-codes

Sponsored Postal Code – Merchant’s postal code (e.g., "10244") - mandatory for all transactions.

Can be found in the merchant’s application on Paynt Portal - Application - Terminal Requirements - Trading Address - Postal code

Sponsored Country Subdivision Code – mandatory for all transactions.

Required Software Versions

  • PAX POSitive Payment App:

    • Version: 1.00.42.11323 or newer

    • Parameter template: PaydooLive-Template4.xml

    • Fields can be found under: OVERRIDECONFIG → PF DATA

  • Rapyd Core:

    • Version: 1.3.9 or newer (1.3.11 for newest Urocked application)

    • Parameter template: RapydProd-Template.xml

    • Fields can be found under: INITIAL CONFIG → INITIAL CONFIG
